Featured Wilmot Warrior: Carrie Pfluke
The day Carrie Pfluke found out her mom had glioblastoma, she came across a sign for the Wilmot Warrior Weekend.
The timing did not work out to participate then, so she vowed to get involved in 2024 and to bring her family in, too. Their ultimate goal is to give back to Wilmot and the team that has helped care for her mom since her diagnosis.
"It’s just amazing over there," she says. "Everyone we had to deal with, from the time she was diagnosed to the very end, was wonderful."
Carrie's mom sadly died in July, but that only strengthens Carrie's desire to participate, in honor of the oncology team that supported her family and in hopes of helping other families like hers.
"If we can do something to help their line of work, if we can provide some sort of help in research that way, that's exactly what we want to do," she says.
