Highlights from Leaving Cancer in the Dust Day
June 11 marked the first-ever "Leaving Cancer in the Dust Day," an event raising awareness for the Wilmot Warrior Weekend and celebrating its goal: leaving cancer in the dust. Staff from across Wilmot wore shirts from last year’s Wilmot Warrior Weekend and patients, families, visitors, and more picked up snacks, coffee, and Warrior Weekend swag from one of three locations throughout Wilmot and Strong Memorial Hospital.
Rochester Red Wings’ mascot, Spikes, paid a visit, and WHEC 10 covered the event. “Leaving Cancer in the Dust Day” reflects a growing community committed to supporting Wilmot by funding research and survivorship initiatives through the Wilmot Warrior Weekend. Get involved at WarriorWeekend.urmc.edu.
